The Day My Father Became a Bush (Toen mijn vader een struik werd) follows ten-year-old Toda, whose carefree life changes overnight when war breaks out and her father is called to fight. Forced to flee, she embarks on an extraordinary journey across borders to find her mother in a neighboring country. Along the way, Toda encounters strange adults, unexpected friendships, and discovers her own resilience and courage in the face of displacement.
